Maintaining licence applications and business transaction records of licensees by use of blockchain technology

Business Needs / Challenges

A specific type of business is required to apply for licences to operate in Hong Kong.

The licensee may be required to provide its business transaction records to the regulatory Government Department under the relevant law.

In view of the high security and immutability of the blockchain technology, the Department is exploring the technical feasibility of maintaining licence applications and business transaction records of licensees with blockchain.

In addition, it is expected that the public can accurately validate the qualification of a licensee with blockchain technology.
