Currently, there are various types of IT equipment, including PCs, notebooks, printers, monitors, system servers and other PC peripherals, resided in different offices. 
As the trend towards the digitalisation of government operations has been gaining momentum, which has led to an increase in the number of IT equipment used in different offices to support their operations, it has become increasingly difficult to track inventory levels, equipment status in a timely manner. An effective inventory management system to streamline the process of managing IT assets is the key to ensure that our inventory is well-organised and easily accessible. This includes tracking the location and status of equipment, managing maintenance and repair tasks, and ensuring that equipment is utilised efficiently. Inefficient inventory management has resulted in a number of challenges for our operations, including: 

1.            Time-Consuming Manual Processes 
Our current inventory management system relies heavily on manual processes, such as using spreadsheets and paper-based records, which are time-consuming and error-prone. This has resulted in unnecessary delays and inefficiencies in our operations. 
  
2.            Lack of Real-time Visibility and Control 
Without a centralised system for managing IT assets, our operations may have limited visibility into the status of equipment and limited control over maintenance and repair processes. 
  
3.            Inaccurate Inventory 
Without an effective inventory management system, it is difficult to know how much inventory we have on hand, which often results in overstocking or understocking of IT equipment. 
  
4.            Compliance and Security Risks 
Without proper tracking and management of IT assets, our operations may be at risk for compliance violations and security breaches. 
  
To address these challenges, we need a comprehensive inventory management system that will allow us to accurately track inventory levels, streamline the process of equipment management, and provide real-time visibility into our inventory.
